Hybrid Western Frame Metal Building

Awarded for its unique modern design, this facility utilizes its steep hilltop property for its gravity flow wine making, in which no pumps or mechanical forces are used and the wine flows from one level to another.

CBC supplied the steel for this clear-span/hybrid western frame that also utilizing 2½” insulated metal roof and wall panels providing a clean interior finish surface. The exterior is covered in rusted Corten to provide a natural finish and complement the surrounding landscape.

Law Estates Wines uses the space for its wine production, barrel storage, tasting room and administrative offices. It achieves its gravity flow wine process through the tiered design of the winery as well as energy efficiency with its unique butterfly roof design. The roof provides excellent cover from the hot sun during crush season while still providing good natural daylighting. The butterfly roof is also set up for the installation of photo-voltaic panels.
