Apparatus Bay with Motorized Overhead Doors and Insulation

When the City of Soledad needed a dedicated apparatus bay to house its new ladder truck, the building had to perform as seriously as the equipment inside. CBC Steel Buildings delivered a 24’ x 60’ pre-engineered metal building with a gable symmetrical framing system. CBC’s R-Panel wall system and Standing Seam 360 roof system, complete with rake and eave extensions, create a building envelope built for longevity and attractive curb appeal. Interior functionality was prioritized with R-30 insulation, a heated interior, and a motion-activated lighting system. A vehicle exhaust venting system and an air compressor round out the operational package, while two motorized overhead doors with sectional windows and two man doors provide easy access.

Perhaps most striking is the building’s exterior, which features a community-driven mural called “Echoes of Generations”, dedicated to the men and women who make up the first responder family in Southern Monterey County. The artwork transforms a functional structure into a tribute to the sacrifice and service of those who protect — and a testament to what a CBC Steel Buildings solution can become.
